Construction of an Armenian cultural center has been accomplished in Odessa, Ukraine. The opening ceremony is scheduled November 30. “The construction has taken 3 years but the idea occurred in early 1990-ies, when an Armenian Church was built in Odessa,” said Samvel Tigranyan, the head of the Armenian community of Odessa. “We received assistance not only from the Armenian community but also from representatives of the other communities, who helped with building materials.” Occupying a territory of 4 thousand m2, the center will include a gym, couch and doctor’s rooms, a concert hall with 420 seats and a ceremony hall with 200 seats. The second floor will be used for a school with art and handicraft classes “Our center is open for all nationalities who want to know more about our ancient culture,” Samvel Tigranyan said, Analitika.at.ua reports.
